Martha Kent (nee Martha Clark) is the adopted mother of Kal-El of Krypton. She along with her husband found the baby Kal-El in his ship and decided to adopt him as their own, renaming him Clark, after her maiden name. She lived with her family on the Kent Farm in the town of Smallville. Clark was taken to the future by the Legion of Superheroes just as she was calling him for dinner. After Clark's return from the future, Martha called that dinner, chicken dumplings, was ready, which she was about to say when Clark had left.
