Stone Boy aka Dag Wentim was born on Zwen with the natural power to transform into an inanimate and insensate stone statue. This was the Zwenian method of hibernation since night lasted six months. Behind his quiet demeanour, Stone Boy is a scientific genius.
The Substitutes[]
Stone Boy applied to the Legion of Superheroes codenamed Stone Boy. However, he was rejected when his power was deemed useless in a fight. However, combined with an illusionary ability, Stone Boy could be used as a hidden weapon. After joining the Legion of Substitute Heroes, he was carried into the atmosphere and realized Starfinger's Furries were responsible for the ionosphere degradation. He made a complex calculation about his trajectory and made a risky re-entry to Earth to defeat Starfinger and quickly explain the situation to his team mates.

The Legion of Superheroes made an arrangement for them to handle cases they were to busy to deal with and gave them Flight Rings. They were involved in tot battle against the Sun-Eater.

The Substitutes were among the Legionaries who fought in the final stand against Brainiac 1.0.
Powers[]
Stone Boy is a native of Zwen whose people can petrify their bodies into stone. They developed this ability to put themselves into suspended animation for their planets six-month long nights. While Stone Boy is in his petrified form, he cannot move, but he is still concious of the world around him. Despite his power can be seen as useless and impractical at the first glance, his stone body can be used as blunt objects for other heroes to swing, being means to trip opponents or being a literal meteor that can cause great destruction.
Equipment[]
- Legion Flight Ring: Like all Legionaries Stone Boy wears a flight ring. It allows him self propelled flight and protection in the vacuum of space.
